Light Cafe GRAND OPENING/RIBBON CUTTING was a success!

Light Café is a full service restaurant open to the public and run by students in the culinary arts program at the  J. Everett Light Career Center, in the MSD of Washington Township.

At Light Café, students participate in every aspect of the restaurant business, from meal planning and prepping, to preparing bank deposits and applying Indiana Health Department standards.

The menu will vary based on what the students are studying and what items are at their freshest availability. Guests will enjoy making choices between 7-10 food items each week; choices will usually consist of  a soup, two entrée salads, three different sandwich options, a pasta, an entrée dish, and  two desserts. Items will range in price range from $4.00-$7.00 each.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to receive hands-on training in an industry setting, and additionally we believe that our guests will be pleased with the experience that they receive while dining with us,” said  Brad Nehrt, Culinary Arts Instructor at J. Everett Light Career Center.

Guests may enter from the exterior entrance on the south side of the building or from the interior entrance located in F Hall. Please check the menu often as it will change each week www.jelcc.com .
