2014 Chinese Language and Culture Fair

Washington Township is pleased and proud to host the 2014 Chinese Language and Culture Fair on April 19th at Eastwood Middle School. The fair is an event of the Indiana Chinese Language / Culture Association of Secondary and Elementary Schools (ICLASS) and the IUPUI Confucius Institute. Since 2008, these organizations have been providing cultural experiences, performances, activities, and contests as part of this exciting event, which is the largest Chinese cultural event in Indiana, attracting more than 500 participants last year. See everything from Chinese Yoyo demonstrations, to Chinese musical instruments, folk dancing, singing, and more. Plus interactive activities will be on hand such as bottle fishing, shuttlecock, Bejing opera mask, fan, & bookmark making! As an International Baccalaureate World Candidate School, bringing events such as this to Eastwood Middle School, helps us to convey a portion of the IB mission; “to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.”
