New Administrators in Washington Township

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (March 26, 2015) – At last night’s Washington Township Board of Education meeting two new administrators were recommended and approved to begin their new roles in Washington Township.

Mrs. Keana Parquet, Principal at Crooked Creek Elementary

Mrs. Keana Parquet will assume the position of Principal at Crooked Creek Elementary, where she has been serving as the Interim Principal since January. Mrs. Parquet has been in Washington Township since 2004, first serving as a teacher at Crooked Creek. In 2011, Mrs. Parquet became the Assistant Principal at Crooked Creek, and this past January became the Interim Principal, after Mrs. Kim Piper assumed the Director of Elementary Education role for Washington Township. Mrs. Parquet holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Xavier University of Louisiana, and a M.S. in Educational Leadership in Administration from Butler University. She is a 2010 Milken Educator Award recipient, as well as the 2007 Teacher of the Year from Crooked Creek Elementary, and 1999 Teacher of the Year from Norco Elementary in Louisiana. Mrs. Parquet’s new role is effective immediately.

Mrs. Annemarie Fessler will assume the position of Assistant Director of Special Services. Annemarie has eight years of administrative experience in Washington Township. As the Coordinator of Special Services and the building administrator at Hilltop Learning Center, she gained valuable experience within the Department of Special Services. Annemarie also has 14 years of teaching experience at the elementary, middle and high school levels. She gained 8 of those years teaching at Nora Elementary School and Westlane Middle School. In addition to administration and teaching, Annemarie has experience as a teacher trainer and a behavior consultant. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education from Ball State University, a Master of Science degree in Special Education from IUPUI, a Building Level Administration license from Indiana University and a Director of Exceptional Needs license, also from Indiana University. Mrs. Fessler assumes her new role in July, replacing Mrs. Paula Williams who is assuming the role of the Director of Special Education for Zionsville Schools on July 1.
