Two Prestigious National Teacher Award Finalists
At North Central High School

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (October 5, 2015) – North Central High School is honored and proud to announce that two teachers have been awarded two separate prestigious national awards.

Mr. Tom Gayda, Director of Student Media at North Central High School was recognized as one of four S’Park Media Mentor Award recipients. The S’Park Media Mentor Award recognizes high school teachers and advisors who are committed to igniting a passion for media in their students. Four recipients of this recognition were chosen from across the country, and named by Ithaca College, Roy H. Park School of Communications. Read more here.

Mrs. Joyce Click, Choral Music Director of 5 choirs at North Central High School was recently named a 2016 Grammy Music Educator Award semifinalist. This year, more than 4,500 nominations were submitted nationwide. The 25 semifinalists come from 25 cities across 15 states. The list will be whittled down to 10 finalists in December, who will each receive a $1,000 honorarium as well as matching grants for their schools. The lucky winner will be flown to Los Angeles during Grammy Week in February to accept the award, attend the Grammy Award ceremony and receive a $10,000 honorarium. Read more here.
