Greenbriar’s recycling team, headed by Kathy Robbins, represented the school at the City-County Council meeting on February 13, 2012, as they received an award/resolution for the work surrounding recycling phone books. Councillor Mansfield, who lives within a few blocks of Greenbriar, commented on students and families walking around the neighborhood with wagons collecting the books. John Strange and Northview are also mentioned in the proclamation for their participation in the recycling effort. Gregory Anderson, 3rd grade, shared his story of gently confronting the Marsh manager to explain that Marsh was “taking our customers” by collecting all the phone books; a true example of Inquiry Learning in Washington Township. Radio Disney will perform two concerts for students on Thursday, February 16 to honor Greenbriar for winning the recycling contest. Congratulations Greenbriar Recyclers!
