WT Schools Named IB Candidate Schools in the MYP
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP SCHOOLS NAMED INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE CANDIATE SCHOOLS IN THE MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAM
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (June 9, 2011) – Washington Township schools being considered for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program, have been accepted as candidate schools.
As of September 1, 2011 North Central High School, Eastwood Middle School, Northview Middle School, and Westlane Middle School will all be considered IB Candidate Schools. This new status will allow the schools access to the IB worldwide forms on program related topics, as well as other IB curriculum materials. This phase completes step two in a three- step process for these schools to become authorized IB world schools.
“North Central and the partnership schools share a common philosophy – commitment to high quality, challenging, and international education. The district believes this is important for every student in Washington Township,” said newly named Superintendent Dr. Nikki Woodson.
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
