The academic progress of our students is an important part of the work we do each day at Nora Elementary.  We strive to create an environment where students are exposed to diverse activities, perspectives and experiences in order to promote critical thinking, problem solving, and inquiry.  Our teachers work hard every day to meet the individual needs of each student in their classrooms. This involves differentiated instruction depending on each student’s level and understanding of the content.

Students will engage in various content areas throughout their school day including reading/literacy, writing, mathematics, science and social studies.  During our literacy and math blocks, teachers set up stations for students to participate in targeted activities to practice skills taught during whole group instruction time. This time also allows teachers to work with students in small groups to provide more direct instruction.
