Washington Township Performing Arts again makes a big showing at the Indiana State School Music Association competition.
The North Central Descants are the 2012 State Women’s Show Choir Champions winning Best Vocals, Best Visuals and Best Band, while the North Central Counterpoints are the 2012 State Mixed Show Choir Champions winning Best Visuals and Best Band. Congratulations to both choirs and their Director, Pat Wiehe!
Northview Middle School was the host for the ISSMA District Large Group Contest. The Northview Performing Arts Department walked away with all gold awards! Groups awarded included:
Northview 7th and 8th Grade Band, directed by director, Jim Perry
Northview 6th Grade Choir, directed by Barbara Miedema
Northview 7th Grade Choir, directed by Barbara Miedema
Northview 8th Grade Choir, directed by Barbara Miedema
Northview Concert Orchestra, directed by Elisabeth Ohly-Davis
In addition to receiving the Gold Awards, the Northview Band and Orchestra received the designation “With Distinction” due to their excellent scores.
