Crooked Creek Elementary is hosting Sean Kenney, one of only 11 Lego certified professionals in the world, on Wednesday May 23rd.

Throughout the day on Wednesday, each child at Crooked Creek will be creating a mosaic tile and as each of those almost 600 tiles come together, they will make a full wall sized permanent mosaic. The design will highlight IB learner profile concepts, as the words inquirers, thinkers, communicators, risk takers, balanced and reflective, knowledgeable, caring, principled and open minded will be incorporated in the design. Units of Inquiry that have occurred throughout the year at Crooked Creek will be reflected further with Lego designed icons and will show how IB principles have been put into practice.

“This is an amazing opportunity for our students to interact with and learn from Sean Kenney,” said Principal Kimberly Piper. “We are excited to combine this fun activity with reflecting on how we learn at Crooked Creek through IB principles, and we are very excited about the final product which will be a permanent fixture in our school.”

The day’s activities will commence with an all-school convocation in the morning with Mr. Kenney, followed by individual breakout work sessions by grade level.
