Fifth grade students at Crooked Creek Elementary recently invited Westlane Middle School student Tatum Parker to visit, as part of preparation for their Exhibition in Health. A two time cancer survivor, Tatum gave a very inspirational talk about her experiences and her organization that was formed as a result of her journey, called Tatum’s Bags of Fun. The Crooked Creek students were motivated by Tatum’s story and are now taking action to try to make a difference in the world, with something they feel passionate about. As a result of their meeting Tatum, the students are hosting a walk-a-thon for Crooked Creek Elementary. Through their efforts, students hope to promote health and bring awareness to different health issues. The group chose Tatum’s Bags of Fun as one of the organizations that will benefit from their efforts to fund raise.
