INDIANAPOLIS, IN (January 24, 2017) – On Friday night at North Central High School, the Varsity Men’s team and Varsity Women’s team, are not the only teams scheduled to play basketball!!
In between the two contests (both against Warren Central) the North Central Best Buddy Chapter will take on the Warren Central Best Buddy Chapter in an 8 minute, uninterrupted game. In this game, students in the Best Buddies program will play alongside of their peer Buddies, they will wear jerseys representing their school, and they will feel the importance of being a part of a team.
“Best Buddies is an amazing organization that works to promote the inclusion of those with intellectual or developmental disabilities,” said North Central Best Buddies Chapter President, Skylar Wilson. This will be our fourth annual basketball game. The game is a chance for our buddies and peers to come together and be supported by our school.”
The game is January 27, 2017 at approximately 7:15pm (in between the women’s and men’s basketball games) at North Central High School.
Best Buddies® is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
