Connecting Passions with the World:  MYP Projects Culminate in One of World’s Largest Student Exhibitions

Learning how to cook like Mom.  Designing a Show Choir Camp.  Advocating for animals.  These are just three of the almost 800 topics about which North Central sophomores created personal projects to culminate their Middle Years Program (MYP).  The projects, part of one of the largest such IB displays in the world, gave students a platform to share unusual skills and experiences with their teachers, peers and community.  Their semester-long effort also reinforced how to be self-motivated as well as a critical thinker and problem solver – important skills for being productive citizens.  The smiles were wide as students explained the tricky parts of making macaroons, and the trick to doing a Rubix cube, connecting their passions with the world around them.
