Summer School and Summer Learning Opportunities

Elementary Schools
Elementary aged students (just completing grades K-5) will have summer learning opportunities available to them through Canvas during the month of June. District owned devices will be returned following the summer learning opportunities.  Different lessons and activities will be on Canvas on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting June 2nd.  These lessons will be created and delivered by Washington Township teachers. The focus of the activities will be on literacy and math critical standards as well as spiral review of the previous year’s skills. More information will be sent to families in future parent newsletters regarding how to access the Canvas sites for each grade level.

Middle Schools
Middle school students (just completing grades 6-8) will have summer learning opportunities available to them through Canvas June 2nd through June 26th. We encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity so that he/she can put him/herself in a good position to be successful in math and English next year. Lessons and activities will be delivered through Canvas on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting June 2nd. The lessons will be delivered live for those who are available at that time and recorded for those who are not. These lessons will be created and delivered by Washington Township teachers.  Lessons will be focused on material covered in your child’s English and math class during the fourth quarter, including honors classes. Additional concepts or topics from these courses that typically created challenges for students will be addressed in these courses. District owned devices will be returned following the summer learning opportunities. More information will be sent to families in future parent newsletters regarding how to access the Canvas sites for each grade level.
