New Director of Elementary Education Named

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (November 10, 2021) – At the November 10 Board of Education meeting, the School Board approved the appointment of

Mr. Tim Blom, Director of Elementary Education

Mr. Tim Blom as Director of Elementary Education for Washington Township Schools. Mr. Blom, a Woodrow Wilson Fellow, has served Washington Township Schools for the last fourteen years in several different capacities including most recently as the Principal at Greenbriar Elementary, and prior to that, the Curriculum Coordinator for the district.

“We are very pleased to welcome Mr. Blom to this cabinet level position, where his passion for academic achievement and student growth for all students, will now have an impact district-wide at the elementary level,” said Superintendent Dr. Nikki Woodson.

“It has been an honor to serve the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township for the last fourteen years,” said Blom. “I am excited about this new opportunity to support the amazing leaders at each of our eight elementary schools as well as the teachers, students and families that make up their school communities.”

Mr. Blom will be transitioning to his new role through the remainder of this semester and will officially start the new role after winter break. We are also pleased to announce that current Greenbriar Assistant Principal, Mrs. Sophia Stevens, will serve as Greenbriar’s Interim Principal for second Semester.
