INDIANAPOLIS, IN (June 5, 2025) – At last night’s Board of Education meeting, Dr. Kelly Wittman was named Director of Human Resources for Washington Township Schools.
With nearly three decades of service to education, Kelly Wittman has held an expansive range of educational leadership positions. Prior to serving as Chief of Staff for the Indiana Department of Education, Dr. Wittman served as Principal at Yorktown High School in Yorktown, Indiana, achieving six consecutive “Best Buy” school designations from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. The school also was recognized by the Indiana Department of Education as a “Four Star School” in five consecutive school years. Under Wittman’s leadership, Yorktown High School was among U.S. News and World Report / Washington Post “Best High Schools” from 2012 through 2014. Yorktown was also a U.S. Department of Education “Blue Ribbon school” in 2012.
Dr. Wittman also served as Principal at Max S. Hayes High School in Cleveland, Ohio, was Assistant Principal at Reynoldsburg High School in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, an Instructional Technology Coordination for the Southeastern Local Schools in South Charlestown, Ohio, and was a Business Teacher for Southeastern High School in South Charlestown, and at Catholic Central High School in Springfield, Ohio.
Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Wittman has presented on topics including technology innovations in education, promoting individual student achievement through technology, effective evaluation of teachers in a standards-based environment, and meeting the needs of gifted students. She has served as an educational consultant and has been a lead facilitator on the topics of Seven Habits for Highly Effective People and student achievement.
Dr. Wittman earned her Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Education degrees from Wright State University. She also completed post-graduate work at the University of Dayton, and earned Education Specialist in School Administration and her Doctor of Philosophy in Administration from Indiana State University.

Drawing on over 30 years of experience working directly with educators and leading in various educational roles, I am eager to serve our valued team in this capacity.”
Dr. Wittman most recently has been serving Equitable Educational Solutions (EES) Analytics as the senior trainer since 2021. She added the responsibility of Chief Operating Officer of EES in July, 2022. She will replace Dr. Matt Kaiser as the Director of Human Resources for Washington Township Schools who was named Assistant Superintendent earlier this year, and will be transitioning to that role for the start of this school year.
