ENL Community and Culture

District Cultural Information

MSD of Washington Township prides itself in valuing diversity and being culturally relevant.   The district is culturally diverse with over 60 languages being spoken in the schools.  The vast majority of the English language learners are Hispanic.  However, the fastest growing groups of students are the Karen and Karenni.  This population has more than doubled over the past two years and is expected to continue to grow at this rate. Although these three groups make up the majority, the district has students from all parts of the world.
