A Commitment to Supplier Diversity

Commitment to Supplier Diversity

The members of the School Board and leadership of the District are committed to ensuring the utilization of diverse suppliers on the $185M Safety, Capacity, Efficiency, Technology, Renovation and Construction Project that was approved by voters of the District in November 2016. The School Board passed a resolution highlighting and reinforcing the District’s commitment to supplier diversity.

In addition, the District retained J. Beard Management and the Winston/Terrell Group, two firms with considerable experience with vendor relations and coordination, public outreach, supplier diversity and workforce development to assist in that effort.

Substantial progress has already been demonstrated. Professional partners selected by the District have recruited diverse suppliers to their project teams; a minority-owned firm has been selected as one of the Construction Managers for a new elementary school and thousands of dollars have been saved by selecting an experienced and qualified diverse supplier to assist with civil engineering support.

We encourage you and others to participate in this innovative effort to recruit and utilize diverse and qualified suppliers. If you know of a firm that should participate, please encourage their representatives to go to http://msdwtvendorregistrationform.com/ and provide us with information about their firm.
