Community Partners

Thank you for your interest in supporting or continuing to support Washington Township Schools (MSDWT). The generosity and commitment of our community partners help make Washington Township a very special place to live and work. Because of partners like you, MSDWT is able to provide an enhanced level of attention to our students and their families.  We are hopeful that this FAQ provides some guidance to answer questions you may have. There is an Inquiry Form linked on this page to let us know how you would like to be involved in helping students, families, and teachers in Washington Township Schools.

Do Washington Township Schools have community partners?
Yes. We have Faith Based Organizations, Local Businesses, Community Agencies & Organizations as well as Private Donors & Sponsors who support our students, families, teachers and schools in a variety of ways.
What areas of need do community partners typically help support in MSDWT?
There are many different and valuable ways partners provide support to our students, families, teachers and schools. These include, but are not limited to: Financial support (programs, scholarships, basic needs) Tutoring support Addressing food insecurity (providing food or assisting with distribution) Providing school supplies Providing personal care items and basic needs Mentoring/Internship opportunities for students Volunteer opportunities (media center, school grounds, clerical) Holiday assistance support Back to school preparation
How can I get involved in supporting one of those needs, or sharing other ideas of support I/we have?
Fill out an Inquiry of Support Form Check out needs for WT families and students listed by School Social Workers on the Purposity app (once signed in, under organizations, follow Washington Township Schools). Get involved with the Education Foundation for Washington Township Schools, The Advancement Center Check out project request posted by teachers in MSDWT (The Advancement Center for Washington Township Schools provides a dollar for dollar match on most MSDWT projects up to $33,000).
Can I choose to support a specific Washington Township School?
Yes, many times if you have an affinity to a certain school/student community/population, support can be directly designated. If filling out an Inquiry of Support Form, please indicate any affinity and Washing Township will work with you to foster those specific connections.
How does the support make a difference?
We have many success stories! But one of our most recent is every student on free and reduced lunch in MSDWT having access to school supplies to start the 2021-2022 school year based on the collaboration of several faith based partners around Washington Township!
How do students and families access resources in Washington Township Schools?
MSDWT is committed to creating a learning partnership with students and connecting with families. School Counselors, School Social Workers and the District’s School Based Mental Health Partner have an awareness of community resources and work alongside teachers, support staff and school administrators to ensure that students and families have access to those resources. If you are in need of community resources or know someone who is, please encourage them to reach out to their child’s School Counselor or School Social Worker for support.
I/My organization wants to help! Where do I start?
Please fill out the Inquiry of Support Form and share a little bit about yourself and how you might want to engage in supporting students and teachers in Washington Township. Forms are reviewed by the MSDWT community partnerships team every few weeks to determine the best way to connect our communities generosity with areas of need in our schools! Once reviewed, a team representative will be in touch (within a few weeks as forms are reviewed monthly).
