    • School Counselors
      Provide direct and indirect counseling services to meet students’ social and emotional needs and guide students in academic choices leading to college and career readiness. 
       
    • School Social Workers
      Provide services that connect schools, children, families and communities. They support the mental, physical, social and emotional needs of all children and families. 
       
    • School Psychologists
      Coordinate and provide individual and group evaluations for students with suspected disabilities. They know the full continuum of services required as options for students’ educational placement using least restrictive best practices and assist school leaders in creating integrated systems of instruction and interventions. 
       
    • School Nurses
      Ensure students are healthy, safe and ready to learn by protecting and promoting student health and by providing care, coordination and advocacy that is student-centered so that individuals and communities can develop to their full potential. 
       
    • Multilingual Family Liaisons
      Support integration and independence of multilingual students by providing language support, facilitating enrichment programs, participating in school events and improving connections between multilingual families, school staff, and community partners. 

Suicide Awareness and Prevention
Washington Township Schools recognizes that suicide is one of the leading causes of death for Indiana youth.  We believe in partnering with students, families, school staff, and the community to ensure our students are safe and that all of their needs are met.  Our school staff is provided with suicide prevention training to understand the warning signs of suicide and how to appropriately refer an individual to a mental health provider. Our school counselors, school social workers, and school psychologists receive additional training on how to assess for risk factors, refer students and families for extra support and assistance, and provide follow up for students after a mental health crisis.  If a student needs help or is concerned about a peer, he/she can submit the information on the Washington Township online reporting system.
