We Grow Panthers Spotlight

Students Collaborate

Recently during Disabilities Awareness Week, Allisonville Elementary celebrated by implementing “Talker Thursday,” into their student announcements. During the morning Student News broadcast students collaborated with their classmates who use Talker Devices to bring announcements to the whole school.
Enjoy this 90 second video highlighting "Talker Thursday" edited with the Allisonville school song playing in the background.  #WeGrowPanthers

Northview Middle School Awarded

Northview Middle School was recently honored by the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) with their Founder’s Award. The Founder’s Award honors one school in the United States each year for exceptional implementation of NIET’s principles to build educator excellence and advance student success.

We are extremely proud of Northview Middle School, Principal Hakim and his staff for earning this recognition, but more so for fostering a learning environment at Northview that creates results at every level. Please make sure to watch this video to the end. In the last minute of the five minute presentation, you will meet Esther, who demonstrates beautifully what it means when we say “we grow panthers” in Washington Township. Meet Esther and view the video here.

Drive The Bus Event

Have you ever been curious about what it takes to drive a school bus? Now is your chance to find out! The Washington Township Transportation Department invites the community to this unique, hands-on event Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Washington Township Transportation Building located at 1815 E. 86th Street.

This free, family-friendly event is part of the district’s ongoing outreach to raise awareness about school bus safety and to spark interest in one of the most important and rewarding jobs in education — driving a school bus.

What to Expect:
Get Behind the Wheel: Participants can sit in the driver’s seat and take a school bus for a short drive in a safe, controlled environment — all under the guidance of certified Washington Township Transportation Department staff.

Learn the Ropes: Learn about the training, licensing, and support available to new drivers.

Meet Our Team: Chat with current drivers and transportation staff about their experiences and why they love what they do.

Explore Career Opportunities: On-the-spot Q&A and employment info will be available.
Whether you're exploring a new career path or simply curious about what it feels like to drive a big yellow bus — this event is for you!

For more information, contact the MSD Washington Township Transportation Department at 317-254-5510.

This is an important opportunity for our students to demonstrate the academic progress they have made this school year. Please help set our students up for success by encouraging them to be well-rested and on time for school each day and committed to doing their very best on each test.
