Panorama Survey

In an effort to learn more about student experiences at school, we will be asking for your child’s feedback via two online surveys they will be completing at school. The survey window is September 15-26, and each survey should not take more than 10 minutes to complete.

Indiana statute requires the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and Washington Township Schools to provide parents and students notice of your rights. We are partnering with a third-party vendor to support us in administering the upcoming Fall 2025 survey. The content of the survey will ask students to reflect on their classroom and school experiences and their well-being related to school. We are asking that all of our students participate in the survey, as their feedback will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our district to their needs. Please note that if a student does not feel like they have enough information to answer a question they will be able to skip the item altogether.

If you wish to review the survey materials, they are available on our website. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please do not hesitate to contact your school principal. And, if you would like your child to opt out of taking the surveys, please log in to Skyward, click on “Online Forms” and complete the Panorama Survey Form no later than September 8.

Action Required

SkyWard Clean up - Student Contact Information/Skyward Access
To foster the most effective school-home communications experience and for the safety of your student(s), please ensure we have the most up-to-date and accurate contact information on file. All families are asked to log into Skyward Family Access and complete the data cleanup process. When adding your information, PLEASE INCLUDE AT LEAST ONE functional email address and phone number, as this is our source for sending important ParentSquare communications throughout the school year.

NOTE: You will be prompted to change your password (if you haven’t already done so) to meet current security standards. As you update your contact information, you will have the option to save and come back later (step-by-step directions) have been provided to help guide you through this process). If you encounter difficulty accessing or logging into Skyward, please email skyward@msdwt.k12.in.us.

Teaching and Learning

Elementary - WE ARE READERS! It is critical that our elementary students are reading on a daily basis. In the next couple of weeks our kindergarten thru third graders will begin bringing home books in a special take-home bag in their backpacks. Students will have new books each week, and they should read for at least 20 minutes every night.

Middle - The school year is off to a great start as students are excited and ready to learn. Mark Your Calendars for August 12, 6:30 - 8:00 PM. This will be “Back to School Night” at all three middle schools.

High School
Save the date for High School Back to School Night on August 18th beginning at 7:00 PM. High School parents and students will be able to walk the building, talk with staff and learn about many exciting things happening this year. For parents/guardians of seniors, please note that Senior Night will be August 19th at 6:30 PM, and will begin in the Birge Auditorium.

From our Partners

Stay informed and connected this school year by joining the Parent Council Network! In less than two hours a month, you'll meet other MSDWT parents and caregivers, hear from district leaders and guest speakers, and explore key issues affecting our schools.
First meeting: August 20, 7–8:30 PM at North Central in the Community Room. We'll hear updates from MSDWT admin and reps from the school board and give an overview about Parent Council Network. Free pizza, plus quiet activities for kids will be provided. Follow us on Facebook at @wtparentcouncil and Instagram @msdwtpcn.

ParentSquare Set Up/Access

WT uses ParentSquare to streamline all family communications through email, text, and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for parents/guardians, which includes the preferred email address and phone number, which are housed in Skyward. It is important to ensure that preferred email addresses and phone numbers are updated and accurate each year.

We encourage families to access their ParentSquare accounts and download the mobile app for a more streamlined experience with ParentSquare. Settings can also be set to determine language preference and when and how families are notified. Please see more information for downloading the app here, and if you need further assistance, please contact your school office.
