Learning Under the Sun 2012

“Summer in Motion”

For Students Entering Grades 4-8

Learning Under the Sun (LUS) is a summer science-enrichment program for students entering grades 4-8.  LUS celebrates 24 years of operation in 2012!  The theme for the 2012 LUS program is “Summer in Motion”.  Each day will be packed with exciting hands-on lessons where students will be building, working with scientists, learning about hot air ballooning, and studying tornados.  Throughout the two weeks, students will travel to the horse races, visit wind turbines and a wind farm, go to a baseball game, a county fair and grounds as well as visiting a college. The students will also travel to Indiana Beach. We will eat at Purdue University prior to attending classes and activities at the University.   Each year we have a contest and this year it will feature Gigantic kites.
