Craig Ghormley, North Central High School Orchestra Director
Congratulations to North Central High School Orchestra Director Craig Ghormley for being named the Indiana Chapter of the American String Teachers Association 2016 High School Music Teacher of the Year! In 2013, the Executive Board of INASTA decided it was time to start rewarding the hard working string educators in Indiana with five categories of awards. With the introduction of these awards, INASTA has been able to provide teachers with a sense of accomplishment and a great sense of pride. Congratulations Mr. Ghormley.
Promising Practices – Haley Frischkorn, ENL Coordinator and The North Central High School Learning Center recognized for Student Centered Programs, Nora Elementary recognized for Community Outreach, and Greenbriar Elementary recognized for Tie Thursdays
The Indiana Department of Education recognized the 200th Promising Practice in honor of Indiana’s bicentennial. The Promising Practices Program identifies high-quality education practices and wrap-around services in schools and communities throughout Indiana ensuring that all students have access to a quality education. Identified programs are student centered and focus on positively impacting students through innovative programming and activities that provide a high quality learning environment and experience.
Coach Phil McIntyre honored as District Coach of the Year, by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association
Phil McIntyre was named outstanding coach in District L by the baseball coaches of the State of Indiana for his
commitment to baseball and winning the Marion County tournament this past spring.
