North Central High School International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program students are attending the 2017 IB Student Conference today at Shortridge High School, alongside IB students from schools all across Indiana. This conference is designed for students to participate and take the lead on presenting. Although 63 Juniors and Seniors from NCHS will be attending, several groups of students will also be presenters at the conference. Covering such topics as Breaking the Color Barrier, Art for the Community, and Environmental Activism, the following North Central High School IB students will present:  Maria Brown, Basie Andoh, Eric Feeney, Michelle Wang, Matthew Bubenzer, Andrea Marvin, Isaac Weber, Rania Zakaria, and May Rose John.

The Hoosier Association of International Baccalaureate World Schools sponsors an annual conference, empowering students to take on leadership roles and share information about their interests or journeys through the IB programs at their respective schools. Students who participate in this conference become agents of their own learning as they choose to attend sessions of interest to them, and those student who present to other students, develop a sense of self-efficacy towards leadership.

The conference is sponsored by the Hoosier Association of International Baccalaureate World Schools.

*The Metropolitan School District of Washington Township is a fully authorized International Baccalaureate World School K-12 district. Having hosted the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for more than 20 years, the District now extends the International Baccalaureate (IB) to all students, making it the first district-wide IB program in the state of Indiana, and one of only a few nationwide.
