Dr. Eugene White Returns to North Central High School as Interim Principal

On March 22, 2023 the Washington Township School Board approved the hire of Dr. Eugene White to serve as Interim Principal at a public meeting. As previously announced, Mr. Branigan is on paid administrative leave until further notice.

In December 2022 the District began a hiring process for the next permanent Principal for NCHS and a recommendation will be taken to the School Board before the end of the school year.  In the meantime to provide optimal leadership support, Dr. White’s return will begin Thursday, March 23rd at North Central to serve as the Interim Principal. Dr. White is no stranger to the Washington Township community as he has been instrumental in creating the long legacy of excellence.  Dr. White served as Superintendent of Schools for Washington Township from 1994-2005 and Principal of North Central from 1990-1992.

“One of the best professional experiences I have had was being principal of North Central High School,” said Dr. White. “My greatest happiness came from working with students and faculty to make North Central a premier high school.  Thomas Wolfe said ‘You can’t go home again’ but serving as Interim Principal at North Central would be the closest to the feeling of coming home for me. I return with a focus on ensuring a strong finish for the school year.”

With numerous state and national accolades coupled with decades of exceptional experience leading schools, Dr. White has become an expert in administrative leadership and we know these skill sets will assist in providing a strong finish to the school year at North Central. Washington Township Schools look forward to welcoming him back home.
