INDIANAPOLIS, IN (August 22, 2024) – Washington Township Schools is proud to announce that the rededication of Fox Hill Elementary School took place on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 5:00 PM. Members of the District and Fox Hill community attended this exciting event that celebrated the culmination of years of planning and construction updates.
Fox Hill joins nine (9) other Washington Township Schools that have been renovated and are models for the future of education in our school community and are pillars of community development.
Security has been made a priority in all Fox Hill renovation planning, with major upgrades made to all entrances, including the installation of security cameras. Improvements to the internal communications systems and access to ADA-compliant facilities throughout, have helped to create learning spaces that improve support for special needs students and provide all students with small group spaces for additional study and learning support. Technology upgrades, installation of modern furniture, renovations to activity “commons,” project labs, the Media Center, student service areas, health clinic and the kitchen, will provide students, teachers, and staff excellent educational options for generations to come.
Additionally, new heating, venting and air conditioning systems are ensuring that students are able to study in environments with energy efficiency upgrades, while safe vehicular circulation on campus was made priority. Various upgrades were made to the renovated facility to ensure appropriate site drainage which will enhance the value of our neighborhoods.
Finally major playground improvements have been made to reflect the latest ADA-compliant equipment so that all students can socialize while enjoying a secure outdoor space.
As a result of the community’s support of the 2016 and 2020 referenda which directed funds toward improving facilities and infrastructure district-wide, the Fox Hill Elementary community will celebrate this Thursday as the newly renovated school will be re-dedicated.
Thanks to the support of the locally elected Washington Township School Board, the District’s leadership was able to implement a successful Supplier Diversity Program during the extensive construction season that has touched every building in the District and built two new Elementary schools, Northview Middle School, an Early Learning Center, and the Paul Loggan Field House. As a result of this supplier diversity program, Washington Township has partnered with firms owned by women, minorities, veterans, and the physically challenged producing over $100M in Contracts with those companies.
