A New Season for North Central HS Football

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (February 26, 2024) – The Washington Township School Board voted tonight to approve a new head football coach for the North Central High School Panthers. Coach Collin Coffer will join North Central Athletics as the new Panther Head Football Coach after most recently serving as Wide Receivers Coach and Pass Game Coordinator for Indiana State University. Prior to his time with the Sycamores, Coffer coached at his alma mater, the University of Indianapolis, for five seasons. Throughout his time in Indianapolis, Coffer assisted the Greyhounds during four successful GLVC title runs and five NCAA DII playoff appearances.

“I am absolutely thrilled and honored to be the new head football coach at North Central High School,” said Coffer. “It’s an incredible privilege to join such a dedicated community. Together, we will push this program to new heights—on and off the field, fostering growth, teamwork, and excellence every step of the way!”

As a student-athlete, Coffer played for Lawrence North High School and was a four-year starter at cornerback at UIndy before becoming a coach for the Greyhounds. In addition to serving as coach at ISU and UIndy, Coffer also served as an assistant wide receiver coach at Ball State in 2014 and in 2015, spent one season as a defensive back coach at Saint Joseph’s College.

NC athletic administration looks forward to Coach Coffer implementing a new vision for Panther football. His vision aligns perfectly with the values of Washington Township, and we are confident that under his guidance, our student-athletes will achieve great success both on and off the field.

“Coach Coffer is a culture guy,” said North Central Principal Mr. Jagga Rent. “I am looking forward to supporting his tenure as our Head Football Coach here at North Central High School. Not only will we win games on the football field, but our student-athletes will win in the game of life under his leadership.”

During the school day, Coach Coffer will assume the role of Sports Performance Supervisor in the weight room. Along with the North Central Strength and Conditioning Instructor, Coffer will implement his program to add strength, flexibility, and speed to all North Central athletic programs. His endless energy and positive approach to the weight room will garner excitement among all student-athletes, which we know will carry over to the field of play.

North Central High School looks forward to an exciting new chapter for Panther football and welcoming Coach Coffer to North Central starting in March.
