Re: Sunday Deadline, Parent Square, & AYS

9/19/20

We want to continue to remind families that if the selection that you made recently in Skyward to either return to in-person learning or attend the Virtual Academy has not changed, you do not need to do anything further. Your selection has been noted. If, however you would like to change your selection made in Skyward, you may still do that until 5:00 PM TOMORROW, September 20. You can make that change by logging into Skyward and following these instructions. Final changes to selections must be submitted by Sunday, September 20th at 5:00 PM EST.  Should you experience difficulty with Skyward indicating this change, please contact your child’s school and notify the administrative assistant in charge of registration of this change request.

Please also note that as we continue to move toward Parent Square as being our sole platform for communicating to parents, families, and students, you will see emails, texts, and voicemails coming from both Parent Square and Skylert. In the near future however, ALL communications will come from Parent Square only. As we conclude our testing phase, we will be sharing more information about how families can set preferences in Parent Square for notifications, languages, and more. Note that we have included the MSDWT Parent Square web page link here and below, so that you can begin to familiarize yourself with this powerful communication tool.

AYS (At Your School) is a trusted Washington Township partner specializing in providing high-quality, educational, and safe programs for students outside of school hours. To coincide with Washington Township’s return to in-person schooling, AYS will begin operating its regular before- and after-school programming in Washington Township schools on Monday, October 12 for grades K-2, and Monday, October 19 for all students (K-5). There are also opportunities for middle school students to participate on days that they are physically attending school. See further information about middle school AYS opportunities at the link below. In order to provide AYS with adequate time to train and prepare their staff to launch its high quality programming, AYS’ Liftoff e-learning program at John Strange Elementary will end on Friday, October 2 and AYS will not operate the week of October 5-9.
