New Students: Step-By-Step Instructions
Step 1 Locate School
Use our "Find My School" locator tool to find and verify your school. You will enter your home address in the top left search box and it will return the elementary and middle school information.
Note: If no home-school information is returned when entering the address, then the family’s residence is considered Out-of-District, and families interested in attending MSDWT should apply for Nonresident status.
Step 2 Gather Documentation
Having all your documentation prepared in advance of registration will keep the process moving quickly. If you have a change of address, please notify your school. The following documents are needed to successfully complete the enrollment process:
- Immunization Records: See NOTE below
- Birth Certificate
NOTE: The Indiana Department of Health updates the School Immunization Requirements yearly. Please check the IDH website periodically throughout the year.
A document from each section below will be required to complete enrollment:Section A
- Current Mortgage Payment Book/Statement
- Homeowner’s Insurance Statement
- Current Property Tax Statement
- Warranty Deed
- Lease Agreement/Contract
Section B
- Current Utility Bill
- Current Paycheck Stub with Name and Address
- Government Document
- Current Bank Statement
- Current Bill
- Valid Indiana Driver’s license or State ID card with Current Address
NOTE: Shared residency families may be required to provide additional documentation.
Step 3A Begin Online Registration
Enrollment Option 1: Online (Skyward) Enrollment
- If you currently have a student attending Washington Township schools and wish to enroll a new student, log into your Skyward Family Access account and click on "New Student Online Enrollment" to complete the enrollment forms. If your child is a middle school or high school student, you must contact the school to set an appointment with a school counselor to select courses.
- For others wishing to enroll a student,create a Skyward account and complete the enrollment forms. If your child is a middle school or high school student, you must contact the school to set an appointment with a school counselor to select courses.
- Students must be at least five years old by August 1, 2024 to start kindergarten in August 2024.
- Students must be at least five years old by August 1, 2025 to start kindergarten in August 2025.
NOTE: If you are not a resident of MSDWT according to our attendance boundaries map, the online enrollment procedures will be denied until your student has been approved as a Nonresident student.
Step 3B Begin In-Person Registration
Enrollment Option 2: In-Person
- Download, complete, and print the enrollment forms (below).
- Schedule an Appointment – Email or call enrollment assistant at enrolling school.
- See the building contact information for each school’s enrollment assistant at the bottom of this page.
- Follow procedures established in the front office vestibules at each school.
- Students must be at least five years old by August 1, 2024 to start kindergarten in August 2024.
- Students must be at least five years old by August 1, 2025 to start kindergarten in August 2025.
