INDIANAPOLIS, IN (May 18, 2015) – On Tuesday, May 19th at 10:15am the President of Vincennes University will distribute books to kindergarten students at Crooked Creek Elementary School. Vincennes University is graciously donating between 3-5 books per kindergarten student in all of Washington Township, in an effort to increase student reading over the summer. “M.S.D. Washington Township is excited to be partnering with Vincennes University and First Books,” said Suzanne Zybert Director of District Partnerships. “The donated books will help support the ongoing development of our students as proficient readers. Having the books at home for summer will support our kindergarteners as well as their family members by encouraging daily reading practice.” First Books provides access to new books for children. To date, they have distributed more than 125 million books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children from low-income families throughout the United States and Canada. Thank you to First Books and Vincennes University for supporting Washington Township students and community in their development as readers. Crooked Creek Elementary is located at 2150 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr. 46228
