Eastwood Middle School 8th grade Honors English classes, taught by Lori Kixmiller and Art teacher Caroline Hays have partnered with the Indianapolis Museum of Art to complete an Art and Poetry night.
Friends of Washington Township, students and families are invited to attend this truly unique art experience, this Friday night from 6-8:00, at the IMA. Hear students read poetry, see Eastwood student art on display, and explore the galleries.
“Essentially students visited the IMA and were escorted by docents to 5-6 pieces of Indiana art for inspiration,” said Principal Matt Kaiser. “Students wrote a piece of poetry inspired by the Indiana art, and an IMA artist in residence then assisted them in creating a watercolor based on their poem.”
Plan to stop by the IMA this Friday night from 6-8:00 to see the work of Eastwood 8th graders on display. Food will be available for purchase at the Nourish Cafe. Parking is $5.00.
