The Phil Smith Above & Beyond Award

This award was named after Phil Smith upon his retirement in 2014 because he exemplified going above and beyond consistently in any role he held in Washington Township. While employed at MSDWT for over 40 years, Phil did not ask anything of his staff that he wouldn’t do himself. He never complained, he thought outside the box, he went above and beyond during evenings, weekends including through storms and always had a gentleman’s quality about him at all times.
