The Spirit Award was developed in 2015 and is awarded to the building staff who exemplifies the most team spirit during the MSDWT End of Year Celebration. In 2018 the award was expanded to include one elementary level building, and one secondary level building. The award includes a traveling trophy which is creatively added to (with decorations and embellishments) each year by the winning building.
