INDIANAPOLIS, IN (January 31, 2020) – In the fall of 2019, the students at True North Academy began brainstorming ways to MAKE A DIFFERENCE. After much discussion the students decided to start a project focusing on the homeless of Indianapolis. Students organized a fundraiser where they sold healthy snacks at a school event and used the proceeds to purchase blankets. When the North Central PTO heard about our efforts, they jumped on board to support with a grant. Students were able to secure nearly 100 warm blankets and donations are still coming in. The students made a personal delivery to Wheeler Mission and intend to continue to collect blankets and make subsequent deliveries as their blanket donations continue.
