Student To Intern With Skillman

 WTS Celebrates Student Intern Placement

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (February 28, 2024) – Washington Township Schools leaders convened today to celebrate the “signing” of North Central senior Travon Lineweaver as he enters an internship program with the Skillman Corporation. Lineweaver will become the sixth student to participate in this program where students work alongside professionals in the building trades industry, with the goal to demonstrate to our students that careers in the building trades are viable and can lead to career and skills development along with postsecondary education options.

“Giving students the opportunity to work alongside professionals in any capacity is a unique learning experience that we are so proud to be able to offer,” said Jim Boots, Capital Project Manager with Washington Township Schools. “We are appreciative to the Skillman Corporation for making this dream a reality for Travon and we look forward to watching him learn and grow from this experience.”

This is a continuation of our successful efforts to place NCHS students in internships with our professional partners who have worked on the $470M capital referendum projects of the District approved by voters in 2016 and 2020.
