Our 4 children all attended Washington Schools. For 22 years, I was an active volunteer. In elementary school, I organized Grandparents Day and was a room parent and PTO member. In middle school, I served as a chairperson and band parent volunteer, helped with National Junior Honors Society, Academic Pursuit volunteer, and softball/baseball parent volunteer. During high school, I was actively involved in performing arts. I was the Counterpoint Parent Organization Chairperson and chaired the annual show choir competition at North Central, MIC. I was also involved in the theatre parents group, TOPS.

We chose to move to Washington Township for the schools. Our kids attended Greenbriar, Westlane, and North Central. I believe in public education. Actually, our youngest daughter is now a Washington Township teacher! I’m very aware of the challenges the district faces with the achievement gap and the disparities some families face. I believe my commitment to the Township coupled with my experience as a non-profit consultant focusing on building partnerships can be helpful.
