Learning Under the Sun 2014
“SUMMER IN MOTION
for students entering grades 4-8
Learning Under the Sun (LUS) is a summer science-enrichment program for students entering grades 4 – 8. The theme for the 2014 LUS program is “Summer in Motion”.
Each day will be packed with exciting, hands-on lessons where students will be building race cars, working with scientists, constructing a fish habitat, studying weather, participating in a fun community service project, hiking, attending a baseball game and visiting colleges.
The students will also travel to Vincennes University for an overnight trip. We will stay in their dorms and have an opportunity to visit their aquatic center. It has zip lines, hot tubs, and much more! This overnight will include a trip to George Rogers Clark National monument on Friday morning, June 20th before returning to Allisonville Elementary at 12:30 p.m.
Transportation to all field experiences will be provided by LUS. Parent(s)/guardian(s) must provide daily transportation to the base location at Allisonville Elementary School, 4900 East 79th Street. All materials, equipment, and supplies are provided, as well as breakfast and lunch.

1. Parent(s)/guardian(s) must complete the student application for LUS.
2. Mail completed application (one per child) and $50 check made payable to “Learning Under the Sun” to:

Learning Under the Sun 2014 has room for 185 students. The application and remaining $175 is due Friday, May 17, 2014. Spots fill quickly. Vacancies are filled from a waiting list, so don’t delay!
