Governor Holcomb’s Executive Order & Update to WT Schools Protocols (Updated 11/1/21)

A continuation of limited provisions through December 1, 2021, signed September 30, 2021.

FURTHER CONTINUATION OF LIMITED PROVISIONS TO ADDRESS THE IMPACT AND SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID~19)

Thank you for all of your support as we continue to carefully navigate operating schools during a pandemic. Governor Holcomb issued an Executive Order that was in effect September 2 through September 30, 2021. The Governor extended the Executive Order to be in effect through October 31, 2021, then December 1, 2021, and now has extended the Order to be in effect through January 1, 2022. In the Executive Order, The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) issued the following COVID-19 control measure update specific to schools:

Schools and daycare facilities that have mask requirements that are consistently followed throughout the day do not have to quarantine students, teachers and staff who are close contacts and are not showing symptoms of COVID-19. Schools and daycares must continue to contact trace by notifying their local health department as well as parents, teachers and staff who were in close contact.

Effective immediately, we will adhere to the Executive Order and update our protocols accordingly. Students currently under quarantine who are asymptomatic may return to school on Friday, September 3rd. This update remains in accordance with the WT School Board approved resolution for COVID-19 protocols, which states: “Isolation, quarantine & close contacts will be defined based on the most current guidance from CDC, MCPHD & IDOH.”

Our families and staff may reference these updates reflected on our WT Schools Protocols for COVID-19 Health Safety Action. We will continue to notify parents or caregivers of students who are identified as close contacts as well as update our WT Schools COVID-19 Data Dashboard, which indicates our confirmed cases by school each week.
