Superintendent Scholarship

Superintendent Scholarship sponsored by Everwise

The 2024 annual Superintendent Scholarship is made possible from generous support from Everwise Credit Union.  The District would like to thank Everwise Credit Union and Jeremy Riffle, Holly Galletti, Jana Maull Nakarmi and Lesley Green, Everwise representatives for their Generous Contribution and continued support of Washington Township Schools and in particular for supporting the Superintendent’s Scholarship winners.

In 2013, Superintendent Dr. Nikki Woodson established the Superintendent’s Scholarship. It is neither a scholarship for Top of the Class, nor is it a scholarship for athletic excellence. The Superintendent’s Scholarship is designed to recognize a student with most improved academics in four years at North Central High School.

We are extremely excited to announce the 2024 North Central High School recipient, Ms. Yarethzy Contreras Lozano!

Yarethzy Contreras Lozano. Yarethzy has worked diligently the past two school years at North Central and improved her academic performance/school record.  Yarethzy has worked her way into earning both the Technical Honors diploma and Academic Honors diploma right before graduation here at the end of May.  Yarethzy has accomplished this by re-taking seven core courses to meet the grade criteria for the Honors diplomas.  Yarethzy has engaged in a diverse course load over her high school career and has been willing to take on challenging classes outside of her academic comfort zone.  In addition, Yarethzy has accomplished this despite working the past two years at local restaurants.

Thanks again Everwise for their continued support of WT Schools and this annual Scholarship. Congratulations to Yarethzy and her family on being named for this honor.

Previous sponsors of this scholarship included The Teacher’s Credit Union (TCU)

Superintendent Scholarship for Most Improved Student Awarded

Bridget Moyer has always been a bright student; however, due to challenges faced in her freshman and sophomore years at North Central, academics were not a priority. Bridget had to overcome both family and personal concerns. She was unable to focus and mentally had checked out from school. Calling on her own perseverance, drive, and support, she found the student she knew she could be and her academic prowess. She continued to work hard and raised her grade point average enough to be accepted to Indiana University, where she is currently attending her freshman year. She is truly an academic success story.
