Planning For Our Future – Construction Update #4

The design process for Phase 1 has been exciting and energizing! Essential input has been gathered from teachers, staff, administrators, and students about teaching and learning spaces and what will best suit our needs and wants. Much thought has gone into maintaining the most cost effective use of taxpayers’ dollars in selecting materials, while keeping at the forefront  efficiency,  low maintenance,  and secure entrance and reception areas. Enjoy looking through these renderings that depict the culmination of many months of thoughtful input. We are excited for the future of Washington Township Schools!

Planning For Our Future – Construction Update #2

This week machines were in motion at both of our construction site locations. Installing fencing around the perimeter is an important safety precaution. Once the perimeter is secured and all preliminary requirements are met, demolition will begin on both sites. Groundbreaking will take place on Wednesday, October 4 when we ceremoniously turn the ground and begin the next steps for the future of Washington Township Schools. Planning For Our Future – Construction Update #1

Preparations are being made and activity will soon begin on the sites of our two future new elementary schools, Willow Lake Elementary (7535 Harcourt Road) and Clearwater Elementary (3575 E. 79th Street). Demolition and construction vehicles have been moving onto the properties as the construction site perimeter is being set. Necessary utility work is being done, and the land is being cleared of any obstacles. Demolition of the two existing structures is expected to begin in the coming days. Make sure to check the MSDWT website, Facebook, and Twitter for ongoing updates of this exciting work that will define the future of Washington Township Schools! *The Metropolitan School District of Washington Township is a fully authorized International Baccalaureate World School K-12 district. Having hosted the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for more than 20 years, the District now extends the International Baccalaureate (IB) to all students, making it the first district-wide IB program in the state of Indiana, and one of only a few nationwide.
