WTS District Leadership Continues Engagement with the Marion County Commission on Youth
WTS district leadership has been engaging with the Marion County Commission on Youth (MCCOY) project on “Closing the Gap – A Movement Bringing Schools & Community Together” since 2019. The project focuses on problem-solving in collaboration with both community resources and schools to impact the following complexities with students in our schools:
- Social and Emotional Health
- Trauma and Violence
- Chronic Absenteeism
- Social Media and the Internet
- Mental Health
On September 13, the partnership concluded with an all-day “Closing the Gap Symposium,” and District Leadership participated to continue our efforts toward equitable achievement. WTS was honored to be asked to present at this symposium as an exemplar to share our current efforts to engage community resources to strengthen conditions for student learning.
