January Recognitions

At the January 10, 2024 regular meeting of the Board of Education the following individuals were recognized for helping to make Washington Township a Superior School District.

Congratulations to Nora Elementary PE Teacher Marcus Dalton and all of the Nora Panther Cubs on winning the 2023 Lu Championship in two different age groups and even getting 2ndplace along with that in one of those same age groups! Marcus has been one of our biggest users of the Lu Interactive Gym system and has been awarded by Lu for previous competitions as well, he and Nora have always been energetic users of that system. These Lu competitions are international, you can see Germany and Canada both placed as well, and as such our students are competing with teams around the world for these accolades. The Lu system is even set up such that it can be used in a variety of languages in our schools so that we can invite students in our ENL / ESL language programs to take part. MSDWT installed Lu systems in CW and WE first as part of their new building construction, and have installed them in FH, CC, SM, NO, AV, EW, WL, and NV over the period of a few years following our initial installation. We’ve been pleased to have them in the Gyms allowing a level of technology only previously available in the classrooms. Participation is voluntary and many of our Gym teachers integrate the Lu systems into their daily activities.  Again, CONGRATULATIONS TO MARCUS AND THE NORA PANTHER CUBS!

Also recognized at the Board Meeting were members of the Westlane Middle School and Nora Elementary School communities, during the “School Spotlight” segment of the meeting.
