School Counseling in Washington Township

The vision of the MSDWT school counseling program is that all students thrive in their environment and develop into lifelong learners and globally-minded citizens who are prepared for post-secondary opportunities and empowered to make a positive impact in our community and world.

Washington Township school counselors’ mission is to support all students to reach their highest potential. School counselors decrease barriers to academic, social and personal achievement by providing a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program and advocating for equitable opportunities for students in partnership with other educators, parents/caregivers and community partners.

Short-Term Group Counseling Short-Term Individual Counseling Academic Advising Instruction: Classroom  & Small Group Consultation with School Staff, Parents, and Caregivers Collaboration with School Staff, Parents, & Caregivers Referrals

 

 

Social-Emotional Development School Counselors help students manage emotions and learn and apply interpersonal skills.
Academic Development School Counselors implement strategies and activities to support and maximize each student’s ability to learn.
College & Career Readiness School counselors help students understand the connection between school and the world of work and help them plan for and make a successful transition from school to post-secondary options (higher education, military, workforce)
